Sergey Syrvachev
Sergey Syrvachev is Director of Product Engineering at HyperStrong, a grid-scale BESS integrator, based in Vancouver, Canada.
I work on grid-scale battery energy storage: system architecture, integration, certification, and project execution — the engineering decisions that lock in for decades of operation. I write it all down here as BESS.engineer, a working notebook from product engineering in the industry. I also take that work on directly, as independent BESS engineering services — design and single-line review, vendor and specification evaluation, and owner's-engineer support.
The 31 interactive visuals, the tools, and the field notes on this site are the same explanations I use to teach the systems — built by hand and checked against the standards they cite. If this site helps you make one better project decision, it has done its job.
I hold a Master's in Aerospace Engineering from Bauman Moscow State Technical University, which is where the habit of checking a number before repeating it comes from.
None of it happens in isolation — the organizations I teach with, and where the engineering gets published, are listed separately.
BESS.engineer is my personal publishing and education site. The views here are my own and do not represent HyperStrong. The advisory work is taken on my own account, earns no supplier commission, and I recuse from any review that touches my employer's equipment.
