🔋 Excited to share that I completed the Grid-Scale Battery Energy Storage (BESS): Complete Guide instructed by Sergey S.! 🔋
A bit of background: my research is in techno-economic modelling of renewable energy storage systems. After publishing a peer-reviewed paper on integrating wave energy with hydrogen storage, the next natural step was to specialise in batteries. That felt especially timely given how urgent grid congestion has become in the Netherlands. Flexible, dispatchable storage is genuinely one of the biggest bottlenecks the sector is trying to solve right now.
What stood out most is how cross-functional this technology actually is. A strong BESS project needs engineering, grid compliance, and project finance all working together, and being able to speak all three languages is what actually gets a project built.
Thanks to Sergey S. for putting together a course this grounded in real utility-scale practice.
I’m looking forward to applying this directly and currently exploring project development and technical roles in the Dutch BESS market, where this combination of technical depth and commercial fluency feels exactly like where I want to build my career!
