Just completed “Grid-Scale Battery Energy Storage (BESS): Complete Guide” on Udemy, taught by Sergey S.!
Working on second-life BESS at Turno EV - where we repurpose retired EV LFP cells into grid-scale energy storage systems - this course was a great refresher on grid-scale fundamentals. It tied together sizing principles, system architecture, and deployment considerations that connect directly to the pack-level engineering and cell characterization work I do day to day.
Solid course for anyone getting into BESS engineering, or looking to bridge the gap between cell-level battery knowledge and system-level BESS design thinking.
Excited to see where Sergey S. takes this course next - topics like SoR/DVP methodology, battery testing & validation, pack configuration selection, BESS sizing for peak vs. connected load, protection components (MCB, contactors, BMS), short-circuit protection sizing, and on-grid/off-grid/hybrid inverter design would make a fantastic advanced follow-up module.
Thanks for putting together such a comprehensive resource, Sergey S. - looking forward to more!
