String inverters are sometimes dismissed as offering little beyond “marketing promises,” while discussions often focus primarily on their perceived drawbacks.
In Part 1 of this article, I move beyond assumptions by using a mathematical model and Monte Carlo simulations based on real-world battery performance data to quantify the lifetime energy benefits of a string-based architecture—particularly for projects operating for 15 years or more.
Stay tuned for Part 2, where I will apply the same data-driven approach to reliability, system availability calculations, and how O&M should be adjusted to accommodate it.
P.S. Sometimes an advanced mathematics degree really does come in handy. 🙂 https://lnkd.in/gKuRDWxY
